Adjustable Dog Leash

Adjustable leash vs. retractable leash: Which is better for small dogs?

Retractable leashes are generally fine for small dogs, especially if your dog does not pull. They let your dog explore more easily. The big difference is that retractable leashes use a thin cord or tape that rolls inside a plastic handle. If you ever drop the handle, it can scare a small dog as it slides across the ground behind them.

An adjustable leash is a bit different. Instead of using a button, you change the length by clipping the clips to the different metal rings. It does not have a bulky handle, making it a simpler choice for daily walks.
